Huawei S12700E-12 Switch is the flagship core switches of Huawei’s Chichi campus network. It provides high-quality mass switching capabilities, wired and wireless deep converged network experience, and full-stack open and smooth upgrade capabilities to help customer networks move from traditional campuses to business experiences.
Huawei CloudEngine S12700E-12 Switch has massive capacity expansion and flexible service upgrade capabilities to meet customers’ long-term network evolution needs and protect customer investment. By using the powerful Huawei series switch chip, the maximum bandwidth of a single slot is 4.8Tbps. The Huawei CloudEngine S12700E supports a wide range of 100GE, 40GE, 10GE, and GE line cards. The machine supports the industry-leading 288*100GE high-density port and can be flexibly expanded and upgraded according to the capacity requirements of the campus.

Full programmable architecture
The S12700E adopts Huawei’s self-developed Solar series of fully programmable architecture chips. When protocol evolution and technology update require forwarding process changes, customers do not need to replace new hardware, and can be supported by software updates. The service is fast and flexible, and protects customer investment. Traditional ASICs The chip adopts a fixed forwarding architecture and forwarding process. The new service cannot be deployed quickly and needs to wait for 1 do 3 years of hardware support.
Wired and wireless convergence
The S12700E has built-in AC, no need to purchase additional AC hardware. The whole machine can manage up to 10K APs. The forwarding performance of the whole machine can reach 4T-bit, which solves the bottleneck of external AC processing performance and calmly faces the high-speed wireless era.
The S12700E supports the unified user management function, which shields the access layer device and the access mode. It supports multiple authentication modes such as PPPoE/802.1X/MAC/Portal and supports group/domain/time management. Users and business are visually controllable, achieving a leap from “device management as the center” to “user management as the center”.
System openness
Podpora Netconf/YANG, users can automatically configure through Netconf/YANG.
OPS (Open Programmability System) is an open programmable system based on the Python language. IT administrators can use the Python script to program the operation and maintenance functions of the switch, quickly realize functional innovation and realize intelligent operation and maintenance.
