Description
Cisco NCS 6008 Router delivers superior network flexibility, packet fiber convergence, and petaflops per second. The family implements Evolved Programmable Network (EPN) to support virtualization and programmability at the lowest total cost of ownership while providing end users with high-bandwidth mobile applications, video and cloud services.
Cisco NCS 6008 Router General Introductions
Cisco NCS 6008 Router is designed to increase environmental efficiency with adaptive power consumption. The Cisco NCS 6000 Series Router is powered by the Cisco nPower Network Processor Unit (NPU). These technologies help the Cisco NCS 6000 Series Routers achieve the lowest carbon footprint in service provider routing.
Part of the Cisco NCS 6000 Series Router, the Cisco NCS 6008 Router is the next-generation core routing system that delivers industry-leading 8 Tbps full-duplex network bandwidth in a single chassis with eight line cards per chassis.

Cisco NCS 6008 Router Features
With the NCS 6000, your network’s programmability and virtualization capabilities will be more comprehensive than ever. You can improve application service quality, increase transfer speeds, and increase the cost-effectiveness of your network.
The Cisco NCS 6000 Series runs a virtualized Cisco IOS XR operating system that facilitates distributed routing and virtualization capabilities. This modular approach enables uninterrupted operation during software image upgrades or module changes.
The NCS 6000 uses an adjustable power mode for ASICs and complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) optoelectronics technology to dramatically increase energy efficiency. These technologies enable the NCS 6000 to help operators achieve the lowest carbon emissions. You can easily configure it flexibly to adjust the power consumption of each line card based on the number of ports used.
The NCS 6000 optimally supports control plane integration between routers and fiber extensions for configuration, monitoring, active redundancy, and scalability. You can efficiently deliver cloud, video applications, and Internet of Everything (IoE) capabilities to your customers.
