200G QSFP56 AOC active optical cable uses four-channel PAM4 modulation technology, with a transmission rate of up to 56Gbps per lane, and is mostly used in high-performance computing data centers, with a transmission distance of 70m (OM3)/100m (OM4).
200G AOC active optical cables are mainly in QSFP-DD and QSFP56 packages, both with a wavelength of 850nm. The 200G QSFP-DD AOC modulation mode is NRZ, which is applied to 200G Ethernet with a transmission distance of 1-100M. The 200G QSFP56 AOC is modulated in PAM4 mode. Compared with NRZ, PAM4 is a more efficient modulation technique that can effectively improve bandwidth utilization, and the throughput of PAM4 is twice that of NRZ at the same baud rate.
