Singtel to deploy 5G mmWave services at Micron’s flash memory factory
Singaporean operator Singtel (Singtel) has won a contract from Micron Technology to deploy its 5G millimeter-wave (mmWave) service at the semiconductor maker’s 3D NAND flash memory manufacturing facility in Singapore, according to a report on the telecompaper website on May 30. . Micron claims to be preparing for the Industry 4.0 era with the deployment of 5G facilities.
Singtel’s 5G mmWave network supports 2 Gbps of bandwidth. With 5G native edge computing, Micron claims it is now on track to enable more efficient production with smaller, lighter IoT devices.
