ZTE prévoit de promouvoir le réseau XGS-PON en Afrique du Sud
Selon un rapport publié en juillet sur le site Internet de Telecompaper 13, ZTE plans to launch a commercial 10GB symmetric passive optical network (XGS-PON) in major cities in South Africa, aiming to establish cooperative relations with South African fixed network operators. ZTE South Africa CTO Alex He told the news portal that the company is also eyeing cooperation with the country’s mobile operators to tap the 5G market.
Alex He said that the commercial 10GB symmetric passive optical network service will provide users with high-speed broadband and Wi-Fi services. He added that ZTE will release the AX11000 WiFi 6E 10gb symmetrical passive optical network (XGS-PON) optical network terminal for this purpose. XGS-PON has the potential to help communication service providers provide high-speed Internet access to customers while controlling backhaul costs.
Regarding 5G, Alex He said: As South African operators see the opportunity to apply 5G to various industries, ZTE hopes to implement some new and interesting cases with them on the global stage.
